    Paying insurance as Monthly
Hello all, i've just done a final quote on my car insurance with co-op young drivers, it stands as £1980 for the annual premium, or if i do monthly's it wud equal to 2099, me as main driver and parent as named.
If i pay monthly it would be £150.00 per month, but the initial deposit is £600.

So if i pay £600 as the deposit, then the following month i pay £150?

So after i pay £600 deposit, for the next 10 months i pay £150 each month?

What if after 3 months i get a safe driver discount, then does that mean i get new rate at monthly premiums?

Discount will mean reduced premiums for the remaining months

That seems to be the way most do it - pay deposit and then 1 month later pay the first of the monthly premiums - just ask the insurer for a definitive answer

Just wondering why wouldnt he be insured? I know a cuple of guys in my area that do resturant takeaway delivery's, and they just have normal car insurance on their car, surely if that lad gets stopped with 2 pizza's in his car he can jus say he bought a pizza to go home and eat with family? Whats business insurance and how is it obtainable? Thanks anwyay

Read the terms. Standard motor policies dont cover the vehicle when driving in the course of your business/employment. In fact most explicitly exclude cover.

With Co-Op, if you pay the deposit then why do you need to pay the following month? It says 10 monthly payments not 11. Unless I'm missing something?

The deposit usually is the sum of two months payment upfront no?

Why does it matter? Just as long as he doesn't claim after being in a crash with 4 large pizzas, a bottle of Coke and garlic bread found in the car then how would the insurer ever know?

I thought that, but why are people saying you pay the following month after deposit. Surely you pay deposit then don't need to pay until two months time.

And what if its his fault, the other party claims through his insurers and in doing so provides a clear description of his car with 4 pizzas in that oven wrap thing.

Goodbye indemnity. Welcome, big bill for the other party's damages and costs.

Yeah how would his insurers ever know, all the guy has to say that he had relatives over and they ordered 4 pizza's, coke and garlic bread, and its in that oven wrap thing to keep them warm as his house is 4 miles away? You sound like a pudiyavana now

A what? No doubt something offensive but you sound naive. If you want to participate fraud thats your choice. I'll leave it there.
