    Maclaurin and Taylor Series
    Yeah, so I cant completely say that I fully comprehend the difference between the two series, any help would be grateful!

    A Maclaurin series is a special case of the taylor series. A taylor series is defined as

    f(a)+\frac {f'(a)}{1!} (x-a)+ \frac{f''(a)}{2!} (x-a)^2+\frac{f^{(3)}(a)}{3!}(x-a)^3+ \cdots.

    A maclaurin series is a taylor series at a=0.

    Yeah I get that thanks, but what sort of question could they ask that could usually throw someone off? Surely they wont ask something simple just as plugging in numbers to that equation??

    I have no idea as taylor series were not on my course.
