    Six Pack Abs Routine
16 Weeks of training. The exercises this guy does, and you train 3/4 times a week. Do you think it works? Sounds too good to be true or does it really work. Anyone tried it? Let me know what you think. Considering doing this routine.

At a quick glance it's a not a bad one as far as those sites go. It will show the best possible results and most people won't get that. Though the truth to good abs is diet. You don't have abs because there's fat over them so really that's all a bit over complicating it. Abs alone isn't really a good workout goal

Basically perfect a diet (clean) of 2500 calories a day, 500 calories burn out exercise a day and incorporate this into a cutting routine will give me solid abs like that?

    Thanks

Assuming your maintenance is 2500 then yes- just because that's average doesn't mean it is for you. It's a good starting point but make sure you review it after a few weeks and adjust accordingly. That'll give you a lose of 1lb a week, how long that takes to give you abs depends how squishy you are now

It doesn't have to be clean. As far as your body fat is concerned 2000 calories is 2000 calories regardless of whether they come from broccoli or chips. But eating clean is better for you in general and will lead to more fiber hence feeling less hungry on a deficit.

If all you care about is abs it doesn't even really need to be a cutting routine. You could walk 5 miles a day as your only exercise if you wanted. It's like those guys who have hardly any muscle but have great abs- it's just about body fat, nothing else matters. Which is why I think abs alone is a bad workout goal

Do squats and deadlifts combined with a clean diet if you want good abs. No matter how many sit ups or whatever you do your not going to see them unless you have a low bf%. Aiming for just good abs is a silly workout goal, a stupidly skinny unhealthy person can have 'good abs'

I'll say it again - abs are made in the kitchen. Abs are a product of low bodyfat. How do you drop your bodyfat? Caloric deficit - burn more calories than you consume - move more eat less. It is THAT simple. Maybe not easy, but deifnitely not complex.

Just don't want good abs on its own. Want a better, more fitter body in terms of physical ability which would help me do martial arts.

    Thanks for the help guys.

errr yes I did(srs). Was no one in your year naturally athletic and muscular when younger? There was basically 3 in our year...me, a footballer who was signed for prem club and a lad who was really hairy and hit puberty when he was like 9, we would have pose downs and have ab offs when getting changed for PE. I was also the fastest in my school by a long way by the time I was in year 8, not sure if I was in year 7(probably close)...some people just have good genetics.

This is true as ****. Everyone should remember a small handful (probably 1-4%) of their school mates being ripped as **** before they even started puberty, then getting instant model aesthetics when their balls do start working.

imho if you don't have visible abs naturally, you basically never will - or if you achieve it then you won't be able to hold that condition for very long or be healthy while in it.
