For me the creepiest thing is the lack of icons in the taskbar...
    I prefer the term, 'minimalist'.

I think the problem is the programme.

"The men who made us fat"

    You made yourself fat.

They use software to listen the sound and create the subtitles and there's always mistakes, it's not just the beeb but it's not their fault either.

Flattering, but I'm not 'fat'. In fact, I'm quite far away from being 'fat', but I thank you for your concern. This programme is for self-educational purposes.

Yes, but you didn't make it clear which 'you' you were using - generalised or pronoun.

Obviously, this isn't a problem in Russian, where they have a different word depending upon the above.

I take it you didn't actually watch the programme... It's about the men who introduced the foods that made people fat - I see no issue with the title... Of course people are responsible for their own body, but this obesity crisis probably never would have happened had the people this show is profiling not done what they did (assuming no-one else subsequently did it obviously).

I'm pretty sure even academics mistake your and you're on occasion, if you are that bothered write to points of view as someone else suggested.

If you didn't have subtitles you wouldn't have noticed. I'm sure most people don't use them.

Again, most of the subtitling on these shows are done via machine, not people. I saw BBC News subtitle Maria Sharapova as "Marie Sharp Pole" yesterday. If the BBC want to get humans doing the subtitling then great, but it's hardly their fault if not.

Complaining on here, where nobody gives a ****, isn't going to fix it.

Shouldn't the title be 'Are the BBC conspiring to make people more dumb'?

I think you would have backed up your point better if you had put up an episode of 'Snog, Marry, Avoid?' rather than those screenshots.

I have an issue with your title...They're not 'making' people dumber or lose intelligence. Showing people a 2012 broadcast in comparison to a 1940's broadcast would not make people lose intelligence.

And I am not sure conspiring is the right word. It's make me think they're saying "I know what we need in the world...people who can't spell".

It's a simple error. I try not to let these things affect my life.
