Re: Do you ever worry about early death?Quite the opposite actually, I'm just about as atheist as one can be. I'm so excited simply becuase I'm curious as to what happens next, and what it feels like to lose perception of time, feelings and conciousness. It's the curiosity!(Original post by Torpedo Fish)
I assume you must adhere to a religion/believe in some form of creator in order for death to 'excite' you? From a materialistic atheist perspective I don't see how one could be anything other than indifferent towards their own demise. After all without conscious perception, time loses all meaning, a second and eternity become one and the same and so we experience nothingness for eternity and will never even realise it. I don't find that particularly frightening, but I can't see why it's exciting either.
Believe me if I adhered to religion I would not be looking forward to the afterlife because I'd burn in hell... Ignoring the fact that if I were religious I wouldn't have done the same actions thus far to warrant eternal damnation of course. -
Re: Do you ever worry about early death?
At the moment Im scared s**tless of this. I've just begun to enjoy myself again after a couple years of not enjoying it. I have these pains in my kidneys and the nature of them has given me worries that it may be serious. And I have to wait a while till I get a scan.

Re: Do you ever worry about early death?
By the way, googling symptoms is going to turn you into a hypochondriac even more because obviously it gives the worst possible scenario.
According to Google, I've already had cancer, aids, osteoporosis, you name it. Those symptoms that you find on google cannot be taken seriously, even if there's some truth in them. the only person who knows is the doctor.Last edited by Nunu Bot; 28-06-2012 at 01:17. -
Re: Do you ever worry about early death?
I do parkour and free-running in derelict buildings, most of which have unstable charred floors and rusty poles etc which I can use for leverage. If I had the fear of dying, I'd probably fall, and die..

Anyway the point is, try not to think about it too much, you can't prevent the inevitable, just don't let the thought of it spoil what you're enjoying now. -
Re: Do you ever worry about early death?
Sometimes when I'm out I worry that I'll die and I've not done all of my washing, or I left some underwear in my bathroom - stuff like that.
Like I'm sure the last thing my family want to do if I die a sudden death is come to my house and schlep through all of my unwashed clothes.

Re: Do you ever worry about early death?Something that may help is DON'T google symptoms. Majority of illnesses share the same symptoms so the internet will most likely NOT help you at all. Live everyday like its your last and find the one you love. That way you will never be scared of dying.(Original post by Skeppy)
By this I mean dying before you are old. I often worry if I get a cough I worry its lung cancer if my stomache hurts I convince myself I have stomach cancer. Lately my scalps been itchy and im worried its skin cancer. I spent a good 6 months in and out of the doctor surgery demanding blood tests xrays and ultra scans. When I google symptoms on the net it always gives the worst possible outcome but its like an addiction.

Re: Do you ever worry about early death?
No, my cousins recently died at the age of 22, for no apparent reason in her sleep (no drugs or alcohol, no medical problems and nothing found in the first and second round of tests) and it's made me stop fearing death and start doing what I want to, because you never know when it's going to be your last day.

Re: Do you ever worry about early death?
Not worry about myself (personally I wouldn't mind too much, I would no longer have to worry about anything and no more pressures etc... and it will happen anyway), but I would worry about the effect it would have on my loved ones because they would be heartbroken and get all emotional and stuff.
Oh yeah and I forgot that I am Death... so yeah.Last edited by Death.; 28-06-2012 at 20:22. -

Re: Do you ever worry about early death?Do you really though?(Original post by math1234)
Not really, because that's why I live every day as it's last day of my life.

I live every day as though death is miles away and there's still time. -
Re: Do you ever worry about early death? Not always true. If you get your head chopped off, you will remain concious for over a minute afterwards, and also know that you are dead.(Original post by Stacey-)
Not really, cus if you die then you won't know you're dead anyway.
Just like this:

Not always true. If you get your head chopped off, you will remain concious for over a minute afterwards, and also know that you are dead.
Just like this:
& Obviously thoughts like that aren't nice, but you should try not to think about it or something. -
Re: Do you ever worry about early death?
Why should death bother you? It's inevitable. Why let something that's inevitable scare you? How odd.
Do you know what worries me? The death of others. My death is inevitable, I welcome my death with open arms. But the death of my friends and family? That's also inevitable. And the thought of loss is somewhat disconcerting.
Not to put a dampener on anyone's evening or anything
