    IGCSE Maths help please
    Is this a typo in the material that I'm using, am I losing my mind? Or is there a solution to the following two questions - and if so please enlighten me!

    x/3 = x/4 = 6

    x = 3x = 5

    Thanks!

    Obviously wrong, the only solution to ax = bx where a and b are constants that do not equal each other is x = 0, but then they wouldn't = 6 or = 5.

    Could you let me know where you got the question/solution from?

    Thanks

    Thank you for confirming where I got to after some thought - I'm completely new to algebra!

    NEC distance learning materials - they are practice questions. I'm going to have to look out for typos I guess. :/
