Apprenticeships scheme to train pilots and lawyers
As seen on the BBC -- Apprenticeships scheme to train pilots and lawyers -- seems to be Vinnie Cable's* latest plan.
That said, £25m doesn't seem like nearly enough money to make that much of an impact (under six grand per person before admin). I'm also not convinced it's a viable proposition for airline pilots, as I don't think the paying public will like the idea that much. Plus the training costs (around £100k -- not a typo -- to take someone off the street to qualified, I understand) are capable of putting the Bar Course to shame...
