Lost GCSE & A-Level certificates
Hi
Ive received a unconditional offer from London Southbank University on the Baking Technology Management course. I've received an e-mail about what to expect from the enrollment process and they'll want to see mt certificated but because of a bit of bad luck they got lost in the post and the post office destroyed them when I moved home last year. I'm lost on what to do. Will I need to show certificated if I have an unconditional offer? -
Re: Lost GCSE & A-Level certificatesIt's always best to have them just in case you need them for any part of the enrollment process or even just for later life. I would advise you to get some more replacements sent to you at your new house. However, I'm surprised that the post office simply destroyed them because I believe that there is a lot of regulation regarding exam certificates.(Original post by jay_fezz)

Re: Lost GCSE & A-Level certificates
well i contacted the post office to find out where they were and they told me since my passport was in there too with the certificates it was destroyed. I applied for compensation but alas didnt get any. Rather annoyed with the post office.
The issue is just how much its going to cost to get them replaced and how long it takes, they might not arrive in time for my enrollment. I have an email from my college confirming what I got at A-Level but I doubt the uni will accept that. -
Re: Lost GCSE & A-Level certificates
I'm going to resurface this thread to ask something..
Does anyone know how long colleges hold onto your A-Level certificates? I was never given my official certificates due to not returning a textbook before we left or something stupid, and my university didn't require them so I never got around to collecting them after I had left. This was almost two and a half years ago now...
I'm applying to a new university now and they do require them, so what are the chances the college still has them? And if they don't, do I need to buy new ones or is there some other way to provide proof of my results to a university?
