Re: What am I supposed to do in the 3 months before uni starts?haha. and think of phrases you can say whilst drunk :L(Original post by swbp)
Spend the whole time planning the first sentence you're going to say to your new flatmates. Make it catchy. -

OP, my friends and I are trying to do at least one thing we really want to do a week. We have a long running message on facebook with people just saying what they want to do, and everyone sorting it out to do it
I want to make sure that I don't look back on the summer wishing I'd done something better with it.

Re: What am I supposed to do in the 3 months before uni starts?Get a job, having a part time job now will make it easier for you to get work when you're at uni or next summer.(Original post by Flyteryder)
The few friends I have are all on holiday. I volunteer but it's gotten really boring and I can't stand it any more (I've been doing it for a year), and I don't know what I can do. Going to be a very boring 3 months; I think I might go mad with boredom
Teach yourself some key recipes so you can cook when you get to uni, chilli, curry, some nice soups.
Have a big clear out and sell what you can on eBay. Decent clothes, old games consoles etc. -

On a serious note, I would advise getting a job. Obviously it gives you experience but you can also earn alot. For example, last summer I worked in a beach cafe solidly and earned £700; I saved most of this, and as a result i've been able to live off this through A2 without having a job. I've been able to spend more time on my schoolwork, as well as with friends as a result

Re: What am I supposed to do in the 3 months before uni starts?I actually haven't planned what to say, though it'll be something along the lines of "Hi, I study geography. Yes i'm aware of my shocking employment prospects".(Original post by PortionsForFoxes)

Re: What am I supposed to do in the 3 months before uni starts? When people ask me "why geography?", I often think "why not geography". As the study of the world it relates to everything - it creates the landscapes around us, shapes the areas in which we live and affects so many aspects of our lives from trade and associated issues, to natural hazards and their implications. My degree will offer me the chance to study areas associated to business, economics, history and politics, and to understand my subject area further I can travel the world and appreciate all it has to offer. That's why I chose geography

Re: What am I supposed to do in the 3 months before uni starts?
Chill out, make the most of the time where you don't have to do work for once.
Surely your friends can't be away for all of summer?
Find a new hobby; start doing a new sport; read; get a job; find new volunteer work; visit somewhere (a fun city) in the UK you've never been; go camping with friends; go on nights out (assuming you're 18); film days; re-decorate your room; if you're going to uni in September, make lists of what you're going to need to buy; get awesome at Guitar Hero; host BBQs; one day a week, every week of the holidays take it in turns with your friends to host a small get together at your houses where you hang out and have different foods (so Chinese night, Mexican night, pizza night, curry night etc); start reading some books for whatever subject you're doing at uni (if you really can't find anything to do); go on walks; get drunk with friends (if you like alcohol); learn to cook; ETC. ETC.
This time is for us to relax! I'm sure you'll find some things you enjoy doing
