    I don't know, I think the media paints a much more miserable picture than the reality. I don't know many (any?) really miserable people. That may be because I hardly know anyone over the age of about 27, but I tend to find people are generally up for a laugh. It may be that it's just **** being old in this country.

    The weather is grim and this makes me feel grim

    To be fair it is grim as a youth in London that you, in my experience, you make sure you're not out by yourself at night because they probability of getting mugged is very high,
