A-Level choices for Geography degree at Oxbridge.
I want to go to Oxbridge to study Geography. At the moment my A-Level choices are Geography, History, English Lit and Maths. I'm unsure whether to replace English with Politics, as Politics seems to relate more to Geography than English does. What should I do?

You have 3 strong, relevant A-levels, that's all that's required really. Either one would be fine, do whichever you prefer and are better at.

If you chose politics, it would be exactly the same as me but both are fine, you have 3 really strong subjects anyway! Good luck!

No you won't, because I'm doing english lit instead of maths

Politics or Economics seem more related to Geography than English Lit, but as others have said it doesn't matter, so do whichever you like best.

Do you have any chance at all to get accepted if you can't choose geography as a subject, because your school doesn't offer it? I know it's probably impossible, but it would be nice to get it confirmed/disagreed with

Politics does seem to be more related to Geography, but they are both respectable subjects so I would advise you to pick whichever you think you'll enjoy most and do best in. I've been told that having a science is sometimes preferred when applying for Geography, but you have Maths which counts as a science, as well as Geography so I'd say you'd be fine with those subjects

'It is highly recommended for candidates to have Geography to A-level, Advanced Higher, or Higher Level in the IB. '

Doesn't say you absolutely need it though.

Email someone in the School of Geography, and I'm sure they'd be able to tell you if there was any chance.

Huh, A level politics has nothing to do with geography, or am I missing something?
