    Estimating grades
In my textiles a-level there are 2 coursework units which are 60% and the 2 exams are 40%

Now if i got an A on both coursework units what would i need to get in my two exams [worst case scenario] to achieve a B grade?

I realise it is highly dependant on UMS points but i'm trying to prepare for the results...

Anyone else trying to estimate their grades? What do you need for uni?

    Re: Estimating grades
I've given up trying to estimate my grades, last year I got 100 points from the subjects I dropped, so I need 160 points from my remaining 3 A levels (DDE at A2 level)

Did really poor in these exams as my revision I done (especially for core 4 maths) was non-existent as I am more or less certain of DDE without sitting any of the exams

Just hope I'll be at uni next year, but not predicting it...I'm away to Turkey on results day regardless so will be logging onto track in the sun - if I don't get in, I can't go through clearing as I'll be sunbathing :P

Assuming you got the lowest possible A's (80%?) then to achieve the lowest possible B (70%) then you would need to average 55% on the 2 exams. Whether this be 2 55's, or a 100% an a 10% is up to you

Not exactly my priority, just the way the dates have been handled

Besides 160 points from 3 a levels (DDE overall) is more or less a certainty

    *thumbs up*

You can easily work out when results day will be in advance though to make sure you don't book during that time or your parents/whoever it is doesn't. Even if you're unsure how to work it out and can't find the answer online you at least know when it will be roughly so can avoid anything after the 10th or whatever.

I'm assuming the 55s are UMS points which would mean if the exam is out of like 84 marks then the score in the exam would need to be... like 48/49 - if my estimation is ok
    Definitely do-able

It doesn't matter anyway, DDE is more or less a certainty with my current UMS scores without the sitting of these exams

I wouldn't have went through clearing if I didn't make my choice(s) anyway, would have just re-sat the year
