Am I still good enough for Economics at top universities?
Hey,
The reason why I said "am I still good enough" is because I flopped one of my A2 further maths exam today
I think I might just went over a B or a C if worse, I know I can do much better, I panicked a lot today and didn't have a good day, I believe I can still make it to an A overall because that is the only one I flopped very badly, but definitely not be able to obtain A* anymore in further maths.
I have finished Maths and got an A* with C4 retook in January this year.
I want to apply to top universities for Economics, not sure if I can make it into the uni by those grades, I mean, I am not sure if those unis care about when the applicant take the exams and whether they retook any, because I will be pretty noncompetitive if those thing makes a significant role in admission process.
I was thinking that the offer grades are just the minimum grades for a applicant to achieve, but unis are looking for people who can achieve more than just the offer grades, so even I meet the offer grades, it can only show that I can only meet the minimum entry requirement, which is not very competitive, is that true?
For a typical entry requirement for Economics (A*AA) that is the minimum grades, so even I met A*A already before applying, it still won't look good at all?
The unis I want to apply are:
Warwick, LSE, UCL, Nottingham, and either Oxbridge or Bristol. Although I feel like I am noncompetitive anymore with Oxbridge, no confidence anymore
How would my bad performance in my A2 further maths module have an impact on my UCAS admission? How would predicted grades make a difference if you have already achieved the A2 grade (A in further maths)?
