I am wanting to study the Psychology and Society undergraduate degree at Leeds Metropolitan. I think i'm going to have 200 UCAS points at the end of my college course, but Leeds Metropolitan state;

'240 points required. (Minimum of 200 points from A levels or equivalent awards)'

So I was just wondering how easy or strict is it to get into Leeds Metropolitan? As I will not have 240 points...

I've heard it's easier to get into Cambridge than Leeds Met.

Depends what the 200 points you have are from - i.e. if you have two A levels at grade B, they might let you in.
Either way, Eric Pickles went there.

Depends how hard you find it to get the grades required. It should be attainable though.

Will the 200 points be from A Levels or equivalent? You can make up the 40 with different qualifications if you're particularly musical or anything, you can earn UCAS points that way.

You don't know though, you could have 180, you could have 220. This is speculation.

Im doing a level 3 diploma, i found out of my tutors that I have 200 points

If you're doing a diploma then you should be able to go back and improve on previous units to get a higher grade and bring it up from 200. It's not that hard, I've just finished an Extended Diploma and a lot of people from my class applied to Leeds Met. A lot of them were worried about not making requirements but they went over past units and tried really hard on units they had not yet done, brought their grades up and very few people have missed getting into university in my class.

Grades have already been sent off, and waiting for the moderator to come in on Tuesday meaning I cannot upgrade any units

Its not as simple as whether its easy to get in, it depends on what the intake of your course is like, whether its popular or not, and how many people get the grades required. If you don't get the results you need you can ring them on results day and appeal the decision ( if worst comes to worst)

My course required 200 ucas points, really easy. I had 392. generally their requirements aren't very high.

Probably a stupid question to ask, but do Universities lower their entry requirements if they go into clearing? I only managed to get 180 points so I'm hoping the Universities in Yorkshire really lower the requirements

for next year they've rose the UCAS points for my media course from 260 (minimum of 80 from units) to 300 (minimum of 200 from 2 a levels).. I'm going to get 240 from 3 of my a levels, but I'm doing extended project and art's award all based around Media so I'm hoping this will bring it down for me a bit.. lets hope

I went onto the uni website for leets met and majority of the courses had places in clearing for 80 ucas points ! no other uni tells you what you need on the website. for example sheffield needs 300 for business. in clearing i bet its the same for the first week or so. then it will get lower and lower. i bet if by september you could get in with 150 ucas points if its not full!
