I never understand how people can say these things. Murray clearly outclasses Tsonga. Even when Del Potro was at his peak Murray absolutely bossed him. Seriously, you are putting a question mark over Murray vs Tipsarevic, in a grand slam? And finally, again, Murray is on a different level to Berdych.

I don't understand how people can fail to realise that Murray is actually a pretty good tennis player. You seem so upset that he isn't as good as Nadal or Djokovic that you are convinced he is a failure and will lose to these players even though he consistently outperforms them in every context all year round.
I agree that he "is actually a pretty good tennis player" and many people, myself included, don't realise his ability and talent due to the top 3 who seem to play at a completely different level, and while there are many reasons for his success over then next 2 weeks, and indeed his whole career, as many have pointed out his physical ability is brilliant but mentally it's hit or miss! In his match against Novak a few days ago he held on in(6,4 6,4) and showed real promise in the second set but sometimes I can't help but think the gimmicks, the between-the-legs shot, are just a mechanism to hide the blunt truth that he just isn't good enough for the likes of Nadal or Djokovic.

I agree with this- people fail to take into account Murray's year round consistency which puts him above those aforementioned names. His game matches up well against the likes of Tsonga, Delpo and Tipsarevic and I think this is to do with his variation that they are perhaps lacking. But Berdych appears to be the guy who Murray struggles against most and in my mind, outside the top 3, he's the player I'd back to take him down.

Do you think Andy can finally make the Wimbledon final, and even possibly win? Personally I don't believe he's at his best judging by his grass court season so far. However I am fully behind him and it would be absolutely amazing to see a Brit in the final of Wimbledon. Don't really care who wins, Murray or Nadal are my favourites. Anyone but Djokovic.

    Cannot wait for Wimbledon!
Out of interest, why don't you like Djokovic?

I don't think Murray will manage it tbh, especially not after his hopeless performance at Queens, but you never know.

I suppose I just perceive him as being quite arrogant, when I think about it. The first time he came to my attention he seemed much rudder and more up him self that Tsonga, Nadal, Federer, Berdych..., less gentalmanly I guess. Although Andy's interpersonal skills, at least with the press, are not on par with the aforementioned players, he's a fellow Brit and Scot and that almost certainly guarantees my support.

Sadly I agree. I can never imagine him holding up the trophy, his attitude sadly is wrong. Although saying that I would be more than happy if he proved me wrong

I dunno, I find that all of top the players seem to be slightly arrogant really, but if you're the world's number one, you've probably allowed to be, at least to a certian extent. But there's always a place in my heart for the tennis player who taps the balls back to the ball girls/boys instead of just dropping it and letting them run for it. And everytime I watch Djokovic he does just that.
I'm not a Murray fan personally, I'm not all hung up on supporting people from your own country. It'd be good for Britain if he did win, but I don't see that as I reason to support him over anyone else. I guess I like the quality of Djokovic's play and don't really see the arrogance that you see, or at least I think he has it at an acceptable level based on how good he is. Murray is just as bad if not worse, but isn't as successful so hasn't really earned the right to have it at that level, if you get what I mean?

Anyway, to each their own, and like I said it'd be nice for Britain, but I wouldn't put money on it

Sorry but the whole if he was in any other era he would have won a major argument is weak. End of the day hes not nothing he can do about it. No use going aww i would have won a major had i not played with Federer, Nadal and Djokovic. Either you buck up and break the trend or be a good player but never win the big one.

My point was just saying he wont win one whilst the others are around. Hes shown no signs of improving what so ever.
Andy Murray is the best player in history to have never won a slam.

He stands his best chance at Wimbledon (he won't do it on clay against Nadal for example) but I still think he's below the level of Nadal and Djokovic on grass.

Let's not be too harsh on him though, he's frickin' great at tennis, no doubt.

He stands a very good chance of making it to the semis. Beyond that though will be an uphill struggle, as in every Grand Slam. Murray is a class player, he's just extremely unlucky that he's around at the same time as three of the best players in history.

I have just watched the best match of tennis I have ever seen. Rosol was in a different league. I would have said Nadal was Murry's biggest barrier to the final. Now that he is removed, there is every possibility of Andy making the final!

No, I'm counting on Federer to make a comeback. Perhaps his only chance before he retires

Wouldn't surprise me if he doesn't even make the final tbh. He'll probably feel more pressure since Nadal has been knocked out :yy:

No. Why? Because he has the attitude of a bull. Looks like a bull too for that matter.

he now only needs to play the game of his life once, in the final rather than in the semi final and final. would be surprised if he didn't make it though, especialy if rosol makes it to the semi and plays like he did
