Had a dream about a week ago in which I was sitting with various relatives. One of them passed a wee girl to me, who I then sat on my knee and played with/sang to etc.. Confusingly the child was me, and I remember thinking that in the dream.. She (I?) was very happy in the dream etc.. It's all a bit weird though. Googled a bit, but can't find any real ideas (other than bloody terrifying "doppelganger" stuff, apparently if you see yourself in a dream it's an omen of death? ).. So am interested in knowing others thoughts.. was encouraged to try inner child healing ages ago for childhood problems and this feels a bit like something to do with that, but not sure?

I clicked on this thread straight away because I'm usually good at these things. I take 5 to 10 mins a day to interpret my dreams (I get visions in my dreams so I find it very important that I don't miss any).
Your dream is a bit confusing to me but I don't think it means death because you're not seeing yourself, you're seeing a baby that your brain processed as being you. My guess is something along the lines of being happy with a purity of thoughts. Babies represent purity and simpler times and thoughts. Are you going through a troubled fase? It could be that you want to go back to those times... Try to relate it to whatever is happening in your life right now.

I worked with this annoying girl while studying psychology at university. She asked me to interpret her dreams. I gave her very Freudian dream analyses involving penises and wanting sex with her father until she finally stopped asking. My A level psychology teacher would have been proud.

I don't generally believe in it much, but anixety issues = irrational thinking = convinced something bad will happen etc.. Hence why I asked here (for reasurrance from sane people!).. Ah well. Am presumably worrying over nothing, touch wood lol. Meds I'm on can cause intense dreams as well so maye that's what was happening..
