You Muslims also believe that the torah and the gospels were sent down by god, right? You say that they have been tampered with and edited, so why do you refuse the possibility of the same happening to the quran? When the quran was originally being compiled into one coherent book by the caliph Umar, there was said to be several different versions and he rather arbitrarily decided which was authentic and which ones were altered and in the process destroyed many other versions of the quran. Me thinks there is a possibility that some editing could have taken place then.
Because it is a condition of being a Muslim that we believe that the Qur'an is flawless and has never been tampered with. If you don't beleive that, you're not a Muslim.

The Qur'an has been memorised by millions of people all over the world. This is what gives it the legitimacy that other texts don't have. People can commit the Qur'an to writing through their memory rather than by copying which can infer mistakes.

An extremist Muslim in my view is a Muslim who follows the religion to the t. You know, those people who are up at 3am praying fajr at the mosque, discussing the glorious exploits of the sahaba until 12 then praying yet again towards mecca. They also generally tend to have long, unkept beards and keep their thobes above their knees. I'm sure you've met them at your mosque, if you're a sunni.

What would you do if your daughter came home and said she was a lesbian feminist? I hope you'd be tolerant of her newly found beliefs.

'And when it is said to them, "Believe as the people have believed," they say, "Should we believe as the foolish have believed?" Unquestionably, it is they who are the foolish, but they know [it] not.' - (2:13)

We get it, you're a munafiq. You have limited time before you meet your creator and you're here making threads on tsr. Nice.

Hmm not sure, can you point me to the source. To be honest I've only read a tiny bit about her, first place I read about her was here http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisf...i-muslim-video
And I agree with everything she said - muslims these days are afraid to question things these days.

She kinda goes against the main views of Islam... As a muslim, we believe that the Qu'ran is the word of Allah. So to say it was inspired.. well you can see why muslims would be a bit skeptical.

Though me? I say, only Allah will judge her so it doesnt matter whether I percieve her as a muslim or not. It has nothing to do with me lol.

That means the qu'ran has not always been one and the same. There were different qu'rans. Your Allah seems to have failed once again to protect his book, like he failed with the torah and gospels. What kind of god is this who can't even keep simple books from being corrupted?

Only the moderate muslims, who want to conform to todays society, would agree with her.

I just googled her to get more info on who she was.
If she believes in the declaration of faith , she is a Muslim. She will just burn for her sins

Hurm... how do you propose to a 'God' to take care of His book(s)? Wouldn't that somehow contradict the meaning of faith? If He just shows up, I'd bet everyone on TSR would be peeing in their pants of disbelief lol.

If your god shies away from even the smallest demonstrations of power then truly he is a weak ass god! He should stop calling himself "all power". I need me a real god, somebody who aint afraid to come down from heaven and kick ass.

80% of Muslims will say she can't be a Muslim.

10% Will brand her an apostate, blasphemer and degenerate and call for some sort of punishment or her death.

10% will be rather nicer and hopefully accept her.

    Truth right there.

The Qur'an has not been corrupted and never will be. Allah's name is above all that is said of him.

That said, Umar only rejected those which he knew to be wrong after consulting allof the Hafiz (memorisers of the Qur'an) in the city. Any mushafs with defects were immediately rejected. The Qur'an was properly canonised during the caliphate of Uthman ibn al Affan.
