Perhaps, US has supported India on different occasions against Pakistan but if India fights against Germany then there is no way that US will support India

Actually India has never lost a conflict against Pakistan, the 1947 and 1965 wars ended in a ceasefire, in the 1971 Bangladesh liberation war, 90000 Pakistani soldiers surrendered to India, and in the 1999 Kargil war, Pakistani soldiers retreated, and India regained controlled the territory.

Edit: And remember, the US supported Pakistan in the 1971 war by supplying tanks, jets and US instructors who trained Pakistani pilots - yet 90,000 Pakistani soldiers in Bangladesh still surrendered to India.

If a war took place, I doubt either side would use any of their nukes, if one side uses nukes, the other side will too - and nobody wants to get nuked; it's not about how many nukes a country has.

In depends on the generals and their plans set out if India was to fight Germany, nobody can tell you the stronger one on the basis of citing how much each one spends on their military, read The Art of War by Sun Tzu and you will realise the finer details in wars which can greatly contribute to the outcome.

I would say India - Germany may have a more advanced military but India's isn't too bad. I think India's sheer manpower would win the day. Also once on a war footing they would have a billion people to help upgrade their military's weapon's and technology.

This argument is a bit silly but well since everyone is contributing I would just like to say that their are some ignorant and uneducated members in this forum who are posting non-stop about the wars between India and Pakistan. India won all the wars and that is a fact. No further discussion on that.

Germany and India. Well I will say India is more stronger not because I am an Indian. I love Germany and have a lot of respect for its culture and people. India is advancing really fast. It has placed huge billion dollar worth of order to buy fighter jet from France. It's developing 5th generation fighter with Russia. Israel and India have many joint military projects going on. India is doing a lot of research on it's own and improving and coming up with new missile technology. Germany is strong. I think both make a good ally. .
