Re: Will I get into uni if I swap my applied modules...?
I know that if you do further maths, then they fiddle the results as much as possible, prioritising maths, for example, if you had a choice between two A's and an A* in maths and a B in further maths, they'll give you the latter (although this situation is unlikely), don't know if that really helps, so long as there some combination that gets you the grades they can't complain, because then someone who legitimately got that combination but maybe did worse in all modules (only by a bit) than you, would get in and you wouldn't. An A* in maths you only need A at AS and more than 90% average from Core 3 and Core 4 (so all my teachers think) so swapping applied modules won't make any difference to it anyway.

They will prioritise Maths over A Level when grade aggregation occurs - but this usually has little effect because C3 and C4 are the necessary modules for an A* in Maths and cannot be moved to further Maths.
What modules have you done and what UMS did you get in them / if you haven't got ur results yet - think you got? That way I can approximate your grade(s) for you. Additionally, what subjects do you take? -
I take it you are doing Maths and Further Maths?(Original post by Loserrr)
Ok, my offer is A*AA, the A* being in maths for LSE.
In A2, if I get A in maths on results day but I swap my applied modules around to get the A* in maths, will I be able to still get into LSE?
The exam board automatically mix and match your applied modules to give you the best overall grade combination, priority is always given to Maths over Further.
However, I would strongly advise that you speak to your head of Maths / exam secretary and insist your are re-entered for the AS Maths and AS Further Maths cash-in. If not whatever applied modules were used for your AS Further qualification will be locked into A2 Further.
There is a reasonable chance that your head of Maths / exam secretary will not even know this, so insist they ring the exam board who will confirm.
I had the exact same situation occur last year and it took a few days to sort out after the results were released.

Re: Will I get into uni if I swap my applied modules...?As others have said, swapping applied modules can't move you from A to A* in maths. Only C3 and C4 results count (you need at least 180 UMS from C3+C4 with 480 UMS overall). If you did spectacularly poorly in an applied unit so that you did not achieve 480 overall then swapping applied units could move you from B to A*.(Original post by Loserrr)

Swapping units is a normal part of the process to award A level maths grades and would not lose you your place at LSE. -

But I done really bad in M2 this year but I am hoping that I got 90% (at least) in C3 and C4.
So I am scared I might even get my 80% overall! As I am doing further maths, I think I can swap my applied modules around to use stats instead in my maths, but I am not sure if I will still be accepted by the uni once I get my grade changed? Im not sure if I make sense.
I take maths, biology, economics and further maths. I need an E in further maths so I am not worried about that grade.
Yeah, should have said I take further maths aswell, sorry.(Original post by Arsey)

I dont fully understand what you mean by

Does this mean that I will not be able to change my AS applied modules around as they are locked already if I leave it until results day?
Thanks for all the help guys

Just curious mate, what is the other subject you're taking along with Maths and Further Maths?(Original post by Loserrr)

C3 and C4 are not high enough to get an A overall and M2 is very low.
You got less than 22 UMS in M2 (I doubt) and >180 in C3+C4 -

thanks, I think I can manage 22 UMS in M2.... well I hope I did(Original post by Jam')
If you get 180 UMS over C3 and C4 and get 22UMS in M2, you'll get an A*. The only way M2 will be swapped with another module would be:
