100 Great Black Britons - very strange website
    A very bizarre website.

    http://www.100greatblackbritons.com/list.html

The website claims to show 100 of the greatest historical ''Black Britons'' [sic], yet very oddly very few are/were ''Black''. For example -

    http://www.100greatblackbritons.com/..._phillipa.html

The website claims Queen Phillipa was ''England's first black queen''.

Yet here is Queen Phillipa (which the website even includes a pic of) -

How the heck is this ''Black''?

The website then makes even more bizarre claims, asserting Septimus Severus, Queen Charlotte etcetc were ''Black'' as well.

Black people have to make up for their own lack of culture and history by stealing other race's.

I've seen websites where they claim Hannibal was black (He was Phoenician)

A little food for thought: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_a0M_MyTdpE

She had Macedonian-Greek and possibly Egyptian ancestry, so she was almost certainly white. Get real son, and stop your historical revisionism.

50 TO 75% of her ancestry isn't even known, you seem to claim blacks "steal" other people's cultures but are you not trying to "steal" African culture by claiming Cleopatra was white?

Black people whether it's Afro-Carribean, African American, or central African, all have rich and diverse cultures that have existed for a long time now, some a lot longer than cultures we have in Britain. Just because you don't acknowledge them, it doesn't mean they don't exist.

And btw Britain does a lot of this culture "stealing" you go on about. Apparently curry is now British! Who'd have thought!

Dianne Abbott appearing at the top of a list of the 'greatest black Britons' is pretty much evidence enough that there is no culture. They scrape the bottom of the barrel.

Even including her is like including Nick Griffin on a list of greatest native Britons.

On the contrary, we know that all her ancestors going back several generations were Macedonians, because they were all members of the same family. It's astonishing how many incestuous marriages there were from Ptolemy IV onwards. Before that it's not difficult to trace her remaining ancestors to prominent Greek and Macedonian families, who would have had no chance to interact with any Africans other than perhaps Nubian slaves.

It's not much of a shock that they're going to need to scrape the barrel to find 100 "great" members of a group that currently makes up 2% of the population and 75 years ago made up ~0%.

It's like trying to make a list of 100 greatest Britons who drove a Fiat.

Fair enough, but the point I think we can all say she deffinately didn't look like she does in the painting that I linked, and the paintings of various other western artists.
