So I'm getting a new gaming pc soon and I'm now questioning the usefulness of my PS3.

My computer will give a better performance in the long run so I'm really not sure. Is it worth just selling my ps3 and all the games and getting the ones I'd like to play (ME3, Fallout, Deus Ex) on ps3 instead?

The Steam summer sale is coming up right at the same time as my PC should arrive so I'm unsure. Anyone else have experience with this? I don't want my ps3 to have the same fate as my ps2, stuck in the attic, with noone willing to buy it.

It depends tbh, are you willing to miss out on the exclusives?
most games will be multiplatform and so you will get a chance to get them on PC but if things like Killzone, metalgear solid, Uncharted ect make a huge amount of your gaming time it might be a good idea to just keep the console as something to play the exclusives.

Or just use the PS3 as a media hub and connect it to another TV in the house.

You might as well keep the ps3 for blu-rays and other media- There is no point selling it as you won't got much for it at all.

Keep the PS3 for console exclusives and then get PC. As others said you won't get a huge amount for the PS3 and It'll still be useful for other stuff.

Also you might miss some of the people you have on PS3 xD

Pc gaming is better however it is more expensive. PS3 console is just good for the exclusives.

I would probably sell the ps3 because I can live without the exclusives.

The longer you keep it the value depreciates so its better to get rid of it now.

PC gaming is more expensive (unless you're a pirate lawl).
Especially initially. However you can get TOP of the gaming PC rigs for so little in ebay it's mad o.o

I'm a PC gamer I saw the light years ago and I don't regret it I hate console gamers who say PCs dont have better graphics because they are very simple and secluded people.

You won't really get much for it, keep it as a blu-ray player or for PS3 exclusive games. Good job on making the move to PC though, PC games have far better graphics than any console can provide.

PC is still far better though... Assassin's Creed on full whack looks soooooooooooo much better than any HDMI cable you use with a console.

Despite the fact that some developers (cough greedy cough) see the consoles as better platforms to develop their games, their still remains a very strong PC gaming community/development
