    medicine personal statement
hi guys, i've just started writing my personal statement. but i've realised how hard it s to cram all my info into it, i have a blog that i have been posting in for the past year or so. its not completely random stuff mostly my opinion on stuff i've heard on the news, i was just wondering if including a link to it on my PS is too far only i thought it might help them know what kind of student i was. thanx

Given that the UCAS form struggles with even the most basic formatting, I doubt you could actually put a link in, but that's beside the point. It's wholly inappropriate to put a blog in the ps. The ps is a place to show your commitment to medicine and not the place to show your thoughts on unconnected aspects of life. The ps is also pegged at 4000 characters to create a level playing field for everybody. Writing a successful ps in the space is as much of a admissions test as the other elements of your application. Have a look in the medicine forum for some tips on writing a successful one.

You could say in your PS that you write a blog (although unless it's healthcare related there's not much point), but don't include a link. That would take up loads of space and I doubt that admissions tutors will have the time to go and read through your blog.
