    GCSE Chem help?
Heey I am sitting my OCR c4 c5 c6 exam tomorrow and I think I understand the majority but I have come across a question which I am unsure of.
It is in the Jan 2010 paper (http://pdf.ocr.org.uk/download/pp_10...e_a322_02.pdf? ) And it is question 4)c)ii).
The question is - Copper ions have the symbol Cu2+, what is the formula for copper bromide?
The answer is CuBr2 and I am unsure of how that is! :P

    Cheeers!

Cu has a 2+ charge so to balance it two bromide ions are needed. Bromide ions have a -1 charge each so -1x2=-2 which balances the 2+ charge
