I hope Federer wins, would like to see him equal Sampras' record.

    Murray's got a tricky first-round tie, Davydenko's a decent player.

Hoping for a Federer win, would absolutely adore a Federer-Nadal final, like the 2008 one.

There's something special about Federer v. Nadal. I'd love to see some Murray/ Tsonga action but failing that I'd love to see some brilliant tennis from Nadal and Federer.

I respect Djokovic and his play, but he's simply not my favourite player

I'm going to stick my neck on the line and say we will NOT be having another Djokovic vs Nadal final. The Australian Open match between them was great but I didn't really like last years Wimbledon or this years French final. There is a lot of interesting matches in the 1st round: Tiparevic vs Nalbandian, Tsonga vs Hewitt etc.

I personally think Davydenko is being overrated because he is WAY past his best and has done nothing recently and even when he was at his peak he was never really very good on grass. He has a 4th Round and a 3rd round and the rest were 2nd and 1st rounds which is poor grass court form considering he is in double figures for slam quarterfinals.

Has Federer been playing good this year? I haven't followed him much recently. Given that the last four Grand Slam finals have been between Djokovic and Nadal, it seems like a high likelihood that they will face off again this tournament. I think you could emulate a final as exciting as the 2008 one with Nadal and Djokovic too.

    Well....

His French Open semi against Djokovic was hardly his finest hour... full of unforced errors. He got to the final in Halle but lost to Tommy Haas. I'm sure I read that he was recovering from a back injury during the FO, so whether that will still affect him at Wimbledon... :dontknow:

I'm hoping to see Tsonga, Murray or Roddick go quite far. Still not sure about the likelihood of it happening.

Federer is 39-6 this season. He's still a tier above "everyone else". However, arguably (by results) Nadal and Djokovic have pulled away from him, I think most people would agree with that.

But, this is Wimbledon. It's grass. Djokovic and Nadal both looked a bit shaky in their first grass court matches, and grass is Federer's surface. The worrying thing for Federer is how many uncharacteristic unforced errors have recently started creeping into his game: he must stop these if he wants to beat Nadal or Djokovic in a major.

    Murray :awesome:
OK, perhaps not. I was at the 2008 final, and it was the finest sporting spectacle at which I've ever been present. That again would be wonderful, with the same result. However, I am of the opinion Federer is on the wane, grass or no grass. Then again he loves the place and will be desperate to show he can still measure up to the top two. Who knows?
Basically, I'm just annoyed that I start a new job tomorrow so won't be able to see much of the tournament at all :unimpressed:

would like fed to win, but think djoko will win, would put money on del potro to cause an upset.

britians oli golding has a decent draw against igor andreev, so does josh goodall playing someone outside the top 100. james ward is playing a clay court specialist and is apparently favorite (oh dear!), jamie baker seems to have pulled the short straw and has roddick (who won eastbourne).

I'd like to see Murray do reasonably well, and I'm sure he will as long as his back injury doesn't interfere. I was shocked to see him put after the 1st round at Queens, but Mahut played pretty well.

Del Potro should go pretty far, he's been playing quite well this year.

I just want murray to shut up all the commentators/ undercover doctors up and do well.. I watched murray in 2008 beat gasquet in 5 and fell in love with his style of play personality etc so really want him to win... I thibk that murray vs federer would be a more intruging final than what nadal djoker would provide.... Also would like tsonga and del potro to do well as they really deserve it...

was that the match where he came from match point down to win and ended up in the crowd after chasing down a shot? also vaguly remember him playing warwinka and winning in 5. think it was the 1st year wimbledon had a roof as they had to close it because they needed lights due to it being too dark?
