Was good to see Watson come through convincingly today against a higher ranked opponent. Mentally, I think she's the strongest female British player although Robson will have proved something if she beats Schiavone.

how impressive was watson today? golding also put in a very respectable performance, in the 3rd set he had a set point in the tie break and double faulted but did not loose his cool. His best shots were his forehand and his serve. was serving at at least 70% today i think

Why all the lusting after a Federer-Nadal Wimbledon final? Are people really so boring these days? It just feels a bit "been there, done that". I'm hoping for a Djokovic-Tsonga final. Federer-Nadal has just been done so many times. Federer-Murray would be a boring Federer win; Murray's not up to it at the moment. Federer-Tsonga would be relatively interesting. Nadal-Murray would be easy Nadal win, and Nadal-Tsonga probably leans in favour of Tsonga (on grass, that is). Murray-Tsonga would be fascinating from the point of view of they both like grass and they'd both be running for an Open title. Djokovic-Nadal probably wouldn't be amazing, as Djokovic seems to have a mental hold on Nadal that can only be broken when Nadal has the comfort of clay. Djokovic-Federer is probably a little more interesting, but Djokovic has lost once to Federer in the past two years and that was on clay, Djokovic's worst surface. Djokovic-Murray is not really going to be that great, as Djokovic is basically a better Murray. Djokovic-Tsonga is where it'd be at. Tsonga is getting better by the day, and is lovely on grass, as is Djokovic. They had an amazing semi-final at the French Open, which was probably my favourite of the tournament.

So, basically, my finals in order of preference:

    1. Djokovic-Tsonga
    2. Federer-Tsonga
    3. Murray-Tsonga

(gosh, and I'm not even a massive Tsonga fanboy!)

At least one of those finals matchups is impossible, surely. :p:

I dunno which half Tsonga is in, but Djokovic and Fed are in one half, and Murray in the other, so it's impossible for all 3 of them to have a potential final meeting with Tsonga.

Yeah, Murray-Tsonga is impossible. I just cba'd to look up the draw while typing that post. A man can dream.

Hoping that Federer wins this to be honest. I'd be interested to see a Djokovic - Federer final. Hope Laura Robson gets through today but she's looking a bit erratic.

because they have such a great rivalry and it would be a brilliant game... Djokovic vs Tsonga would be a fairly straightforward Djoko win...

I've never really warmed to Robson, tbh. She had a good match there though, hopefully it should boost her confidence.

I don't agree with that. I think that will be the final but I wouldn't write Tsonga off like that. His game is suited to grass and he took a set off Djokovic at Wimbledon last year. The one thing that may not bode well for Tsonga is that he may still have a hangover from the French Open when he probably knows that he should've beaten Djokovic.

    ---------------------

As much as I like Robson I just couldn't bring myself to support her against Schiavone. I love Schiavone, so I'm pleased she got through. Robson did well though and it bodes well for the future.

True. She's always been more popular with the male audience.

The critics are right though. She hits the ball much better than Watson but is nowhere near as mobile as her Channel Islander counterpart. A combination of Watson and Robson would be formidable.

Does anyone know if Johanna Konta is still in?

I believe so. Konta leading with 8-7 and they should be getting ready to play on Court 17.

Considering I have final tickets, as a Brit, I do want Murray to go through but he hasn't been up to his usual standard this season

Yeah, Bellucci is playing really well and I don't think Nadal has fully adjusted. Still, he's won a game now.

I agree, but a few of those volleys at the net were disgraceful!

Wow, just saw Belluci serve to love against Nadal, and completely dominate him in the process as well.
