    This'll be good.

All I'll say is you can do a lot better, but can only do slightly worse. Warwick is far better in teaching quality and reputation, making graduate prospectus much better.

If you want the absolute honest opinion, I'm afraid no. One of my friend got into London Met with a CDU where a U doesn't even get considered. But then again everyone has their opinions...

Yes. And lots of graduate employers recruit from particular universities, particularly in the finance sector. Warwick is one they really like, London Met not so much...

I've heard that it's pretty rubbish to be honest, wish I had known that before applying. Oh well.

Dear lord, they have a law school?

I pity any poor fool that wastes their time there.

I'm suprised this thread hasn't been overrun yet. A lot of people (on TSR) will use London Met as an insult, because they think it is that bad of a University. Of course, London Met may have a lot better teaching/facilities for certain subjects, but for economics/accounting, I'd go for Warwick over Met.

Yes it affects you a lot...........London met is a place where you shouldn't even consider going to...............satisfaction is low, quality is low and their charging £9000..........it's worth it.............nor can you compare it to the likes of Warwick which stands highly and is very reputable with their economics/accounting degrees in the business world.

You'll be paying a lot more than some of us, so make sure it's worth it and properly research this stuff. Warwicks right at the top for that course.

Check these TSR pages out for Economics, might give you an idea

no I'm not comparing them. I'm asking if there is a difference in the value of the degree.

When the degree comes from one of the worst places yes they do. I don't think it even makes it into the top 100. Its in the bottom 3. League tables aren't everything but when its bottom 3 vs top (let's say) 80.

How did they even get permission to charge that? I thought the 9k was meant to be for elite universities.

A typical student at Warwick studying Economics will have A*AA at A2 and a further A at AS

A typical student studying Economics at London Met will have CCC (or less if they make up their 240 points with an AS and General Studies etc)

They cater for different students ... therefore they are bound to deliver in a different way and have different expectations

An employer will know the profile of the students at these 2 institutions and will make a judgement based on that

Trust me they got funding issues, they were cutting like a 100+ courses and cutting lecturers.
I also recall them getting fined, for having taken too many students during 1 year.

Of course he's gona love it....he is making £35k odd a year. Him teaching at a low rank uni doesn't affect him....it merely affects the students who study there.

London Met has a very good Law School which is respected by a number of employers. Just because there is a myth of inferiority among some students regarding London Met does not mean that myth extends to employers and other people.
