Good places to explore in the UK.
Not something the average 18 year old does but a friend and I are looking for a place where we can explore. Places like derelict buildings or just desolate areas, possibly somewhere we could ride motorbikes without causing hassle and most likely camp there, if not have somewhere to stay nearby). Somewhere that would be interesting and wouldn't get boring after 20 minutes or so.
Not sure how successful this will be but thanks in advance! -
Re: Good places to explore in the UK.
There are thousands of derelict factories etc in England, places like Sheffield and Leeds and Birmingham. Obviously, the less information you can find about them the more likely they are to be good. I wouldn't advise it unless you are pretty experienced though, since there are armed guards, guard dogs, and the odd criminal gang to contend with.
A good starting place would be graffiti websites, since graffiti artists tend to know all the good derelict sites. -

Urban exploration is the term you're looking for in terms of old buildings etc - have a look around on here, plenty of listings and locations: http://www.28dayslater.co.uk/forums/
A mate and I explored the old Barrow Gurney mental hospital near Bristol and nearly scared ourselves to death haha, such a creepy place. I'm 23 and he's a 25 year old who's been in the army for years, never seen two grown men run so quickly when hearing dogs bark
How you planning to get around? Sounds like a cool potential road trip. Not sure about the riding around on motorbikes though (assuming you don't have licenses....)
