twice negged ......... im pretty proud of the fact me and my horse on the under 21 european squad training programme but then its clearly ignorent people whod fall of a horse straight away negging for somebody liking a horse and not being bold enough to give a validated reason
Because you are arrogant and boastful. The OP didn't ask for your achievements (true or not).

The fact you have asked about women rather than men sort of implies that it is a more womanly thing.... probably because they don't have a c*ck and balls, meaning riding is more comfortable for them.

Horses can be rather majestic and whatnot, and can be like the big brother a girl never had

I just like the fact that horses are so big, yet are capable of being so unbelievably gentle. There's just something about them that makes me relaxed and happy to be around them.

Yeah this is a load of rubbish. Under this idea, girls all want to have plastic dolls with big boobs (barbies), meet tiny people who their hair pointing to the ceiling (trolls), and go around collecting real bears from the wild.

My Little Pony was stupid. I had a remote controlled car instead.
Good for you. Maybe me and my friends were weird all liking Ponies and animals then (well and in my case Trains and Cars too). I wasn't trying to be stereotypical (as I've just proven I've never been one for stereotypes either), but I did wonder if it was part of it. Oh and My Little Pony has never been stupid. Well, except maybe the Generation 3 Cartoons. That was when I realised I'd grown out of it. Then the new series came along.

I don't really like horses. Yes, fanatical horse lovers, I have ridden and no, I did not fall off/get stood on/kicked, I just don't see the appeal, especially as half of them seem to get 'spooked' by something like a carrier bag, they're difficult to get around while driving, they leave their poo everywhere (if we have to pick up dog poo, can't you pick up horse poo?), and they are expensive to keep. Just not my cup of tea.
Dog poo is full of toxins and nasty stuff whereas horse poo is mainly grass etc.

And no, you complain that they get in the way on the road? Well can you imagine how much more of a pain it would be if we had to leap around picking up then trying to get back on the horse with it?:rolleyes:

For the OP, my family were keen horseriders and so I have been around it from birth watching my parents ride and compete, so I was bound to become obsessed really. My brother however isnt very interested at all but then wasnt around the horses as much :P

I personally hate horses and don't trust them.

    Each to their own, though.

Little girls like My Little Pony because they liked ponies. Not the other way around.

Don't state your opinion as fact either. It's that kind of thing that makes people think bronies try to shove it down everyone's throats. Some people like it; some don't. It's not your place to say that your opinion is right and there's is wrong.

I love horses. Have loved them ever since I played Ocarina of Time :moon:

A reason for lots of people (male and female) liking them may be that horses symbolise freedom and adventure.

A bit. There've been a good few surveys of the brony fandom as a whole. The mean age of a brony is 21 according to most. One source.

    Study performed by these two.

The people on 4chan are the darkest part of the fandom. 4chan.org/mlp/ bronies are to the brony community as religious fundamentalists are to religion. A minority that make the rest of us look bad.

I'm also willing to bet the /mlp/ kids aren't old men, too.

Poo on the road is disgusting, and a quick google search showed that horse poo can contain E. Coli, Listeria, Salmonella. Clostridium tetani, and protozoa like Giardia and Cryptosporidium, not to mention the flies that are attracted.

I was implying that you shouldn't ride on main roads. I have no problem with horses on quieter country roads, but I regularly see people on horses near where I live which is a pretty built up area - massive tailbacks caused, potentially dangerous if a plastic bag happens to roll past, my gran has had a horse step out with no warning in front of her car, and I know that many other people have had near misses. It's dangerous and stupid, and the crap is a nightmare to get out of tyres.

If you cannot deal with poo from horses (and potentially other rural animals) then move to the city?
And all poo is filled with things like that but horse poo is less likely to cause you harm than dog poo and since it can be used as a fertilizer,it can be good for the plants/grass verges on the sides of roads.

Also horses are far less scared by plastic bags etc as you seem to think, a lot has to do with the competency of the rider.
And tbh if people are having near misses, they all need to slow down?
Either you can see the horse from ages away so should be going slow enough not to be an issue to the horse or if its country lanes and bendy roads that people know are used for horse riding slow down?

As a horse rider AND a driver, Ive found that mostly it is the car drivers fault (myself included a few times) rather than the horse riders.

I didn't neg you btw, not sure why people did. My sis is a big horse enthusiast, I had a go on a shetland, apparently I was a natural, lol, even though I was a little dumpling at the time and didn't really know what was happening. Just wondering, weird question but does it ever actually turn you/women on riding a horse?
