    Sheffield and Nottingham.
AAA is the standard offer for medicine unfortunately. Unles syou're going to Cambridge, apparently they like to throw an extra A* there.
Them, and Exeter now too... Since they split with Plymouth, their asking for applicants is A*AA for 2013 onwards...

    That can't be serious...
...Why on earth would they do that?! I swear Exeter isn't even that prestigious, in comparison to other universities with medical schools attached??!

This is really taking the piss.
I swear a lot of medical schools ignore A*s because they believe that the way they're awarded is unfair?!

Medicine is really competitive so they want a way to differentiate between students. AAA is simply too easy to achieve for such competitive courses.

Similarly, Oxford said they wouldn't use the A* as they thought it wasn't a good predictor for success at degree level but now they do for science subjects and are likely to implement it across all subjects. It's simply another way to differentiate between people.

I don't agree on how it's awarded either.

Firm: University of York (Economics) AAB

Insurance: Lancaster Univeristy (Economics) AAB (But it includes general studies, I messed up my insurance choices)

Reckon I've got an A in maths and a B in history so it all depends on Business Studies.
