My hotmail account has been blocked. Help!
My friend sent me a text telling me about a dodgy email I've sent her to which I replied I didn't and when I tried to log into my hotmail account a message came up saying my account has been blocked due to sending a lot of spam and the only way to recover my account is to insert my contact number. I didn't of course insert any contact details.

I'm not sure how my account has been hacked or if it has been hacked? Can I recover my account? also I was worried because I've used the same email address for my Amazon account but I've changed it now. Could my Amazon account be in danger?

I've had that email since ages and I never experienced anything like this before.

    Someone help please.

someone did probably hacked it. do not enter your contact detail as if someone is actually hacked it they can use that "keytouch" software that will allow them to use your contact details. have you changed your email address for amazon if not then it is in danger

Yes it's been hacked, you might have inadvertently opened one of those links yourself.

Yes you can recover the account, you even said it yourself, by giving your contact number, they send you a code which you insert and it's back again, then change the password and make the secret answer much harder to guess.

Yes, I've changed it the minute I found out about this but I'm not sure if I did it on time. When I logged into my Amazon account I checked if there were any recent activity or history and there were none so I suppose this is a good sign?

Could this be due to the recent TSR hacking that happened?

The thing is I'm well aware about those types of links and I never fell for one no matter how trustworthy the source may seem. I just avoid them like the plague.
You might be right but I've researched and some people said that this method did not work and they did not receive any text from msn in order to restore their account so I'm not sure if this actually works?

I'm not too bothered about the account I just don't want my Amazon account to have been affected.

I've done it before, but because it's MSN, a large corporation, they do get a alot of requests, so send it off a few times and wait an hour or so.

It probably was your secret question then...sometimes they can guess easily.
