Need advice choosing a uni for an MA. Help! :)
Hi, I'm doing BA English and just finished second year. I would love to do an MA in Victorian Literature aka nineteenth century lit. I'm stuck between a few: Durham, Sheffield, Leeds, York, Manchester, Birmingham.

They all do the course and all sound really good so I was wondering if there's anyone who's done a humanities degree at one of these unis, what they thought and other general things like tutors, reputation etc.

    All advice will be appreciated.
    Thanks a lot x

At masters level you should be considering individual staff to work with. There are lots of good universities which offer dedicated programmes on Victorian literature, because it is an important part of the English canon. However, you should be focusing on which writers you like best and which individual units you would like to take at masters level (e.g. York offer a dedicated unit on Henry James).

You need to think more about what you want to get out of your masters degree before you apply.
