Re: Bradford University Accommodation Thread 2012yh i was aware of that. But tbf the membership is dead cheap compared to other gyms.(Original post by ShafiqJ)
I think the gym requires a Membership, the university doesn't supply.

Re: Bradford University Accommodation Thread 2012Would I be right in assuming you're doing the clinical science foundation/first year? I'm doing the foundation year hopefully then going to Leeds for medicine so Bradford's my only choice too..(Original post by . . .)

Re: Bradford University Accommodation Thread 2012Medicine at Leeds. If I get AAA/A*AA I'm going to take a gap year and reapply to medicine but at the moment it's looking like I might get A*AB/AAB. Damn CHEM5 exam.(Original post by KittenInfusion)
sorry didn't realise it was you on the other thread too
are you hoping to do medicine at Leeds or one of the other subjects?

Re: Bradford University Accommodation Thread 2012Ahh okay- I don't have chemistry A level and I didn't get into medicine with foundation year anywhere so this course might just be my way in...(Original post by . . .)

Re: Bradford University Accommodation Thread 2012Well I done English Lit, history and biology for A2- I was predicted AAA but I doubt I've got that :s erm halfway through year 12 I had a small procedure because of a heart problem I've got and that kinda made me think about medicine..I got some work experience etc and decided on it..got as far as an interview at one medical school that offers the foundation year but in the end only Bradford made me an offer so fingers crossed this will be the one :-) yourself?(Original post by . . .)

Re: Bradford University Accommodation Thread 2012Originally I was going to do pharmacy as I enjoyed chemistry after the work experience I wanted to shoot myself it was admin work all day. I thought about pharmacology did some experience in a lab didn't like the thought of not being able to talk with customers or non-work people and just being stuck in a lab. So I thought I'd give medicine a try but GCSES grades and UKCAT sucked and had bad AS grades so I got straight rejection.(Original post by KittenInfusion)

Re: Bradford University Accommodation Thread 2012yeah a few people I spoke to said the work experience they done for pharmacy was just mind- numbing..my GCSEs and UKCAT weren't particularly impressive either(Original post by . . .)

Did you have any hospital work experience? I done a week in an anaesthetics department and a few days in a GP surgery... really hoping this course works out for me!

. Got a week at the GP. A week at the community centre. 3 weeks at the hospital (1 week in the cardiology department where the doctor invited me to see some minor surgery then a week in the eye clinic which was pretty good aswell and then a week at the medical equipment library which was pretty fun as the people there were really nice and laid back).

I really enjoyed my work experience I got to actually help anaesthetize (sp?) and intubate a patient before an operation, that was quite good
do you have any idea what you want to specialise in?

I don't look that far ahead.
First thing is getting in then I'll start thinking about that.
What about you? -
Re: Bradford University Accommodation Thread 2012
No, I managed to avoid any deaths, even though my "patient" probably had a bit of a sore throat when he woke up..fair enough, I'm keeping an open mind too, but I think anaesthetics would be really good, that's why I actually applied directly to the anaesthetics department for work experience because I wanted an insight specifically into that kind of thing. Kinda interested in surgery/cardiology too..
good luck
