Ahh awesome! Nah I'm not, I only live about 15 miles from Taunton so I'll be commuting every day gonna be horrible but so much cheaper! I haven't a clue what my course code is, haven't heard anything from SCAT since I accepted my offer lol. You excited about moving? xx

I'm going to be in the halls in september! If everything gets sorted out properly, the accomodation people are really difficult to contact and I need to put down my deposit I'm absolutely terrified at the prospect of living alone.
I'll be doing a fDa in Fine Art.
Somerset isn't too far from where I live but far enough away that I need to move out of my cosey Devon home

It's rough up here, and I genuinely fell in love with the area when i first came down here haha, and I'm looking at it as a fresh start in a whole new place. I'm just finding it a bit unnerving that I won't know anyone at all!

I can't help finding this really weird that you're going to be in the Halls. just wondering have you put down your deposit? I'm having real trouble trying to contact the office, infact they're making me really mad because I've left two messages on their answerphone, i might ahve to phone up the accounts because they might be able to deal with my questions or slam the heads together with the people on accomodation. :'(

Haha! not in particular, I mean like it's so much prettier down there, I just find it a nicer environment. That and I enjoy cider... but yea! haha. I'm sending my deposit in soon, probably tomorrow, it apparently has to be in for the 24th D:
Don't worry! I reckon they have just been getting alot in at the moment because of clearing and stuff, I'm sure it will work out

yeah it has to arrive there on the 24th I phoned the main reception today because the accomodation people were having a training day (why would they do that so close to our deadline??) So they weren't taking calls I paid my deposit over the phone by card :'( bye bye £200!

And I have to pay car insurance this month. My student loan only gives me about £2000 for the year after deductions for accomodation. I'm going to be totally skint because apparently my dad earns a lot of money, I'm not going to see much of his money though.

He keeps going on at me about getting a job in taunton but there aren't many jobs with flexible enough hours but my job here have said they'll take me on as temporary staff at christmas, easter and summer, so atleast thats a help. Still :/ *sigh*

And yeah SCAT have halls but not on site, its a short bus ride away.

Well atleast it's out of the way.

I guess not being able to drive has it's good points - I don't have to pay ridiculous amounts of money on insurance and petrol! Haha. My mum said she would help me out once a month with essentials, and I don't come from a well-off family, so I think I'll be alright for money. And why don't you try supermarkets and bars? usually they do 4-6 hour shifts on the weekends, that's what I'm planning on. You'll get extra money for working over the Christmas period, so I don't think it's too bad :P

I'm leaving my car at home, it costs over £100 to park it at the halls car park!! O_O and I don't relaly need it in taunton, public transport is easier. I barely drive my car, my dad loves old cars so he bought me one for my 17th, I'm sounding posher/snobier by the second. Darn.

I'll look around but I might not be there everyweekened because I might want to go home for the weekends to see family, obviously not every weeknd but some of them.

Hm, I went to the interview and got an unconditional place. But I took my art, physically carried in huge pieces of MDF and card I think that worked in my favour, plus on the Alevel course I just did I did a course in life drawing. There's something weird that happens to me in interviews, or any situation that involves me speaking to new people, i get this enormous adrnyln (sp?) rush, and I literally talk about everything. All my nervs vanish. Maybe that helped me in the interview. who knows. Such a shame you didn't make the grade though!! After your foundation you'll be able to right? I luckily got through via direct entry, but the tutor heavily warned me against doing that when I went to the opendays, he told me they dont normally let people do that. I'm still really worried that I wont be ready for it.
