Notes?
Basically, at GCSE I took History, a pretty academic subject right? I found myself writing huge amounts of information on the 3rd Reich (5-6 A4 pages every hour lesson. As you can imagine, it added up to quite a lot. I am not saying I have a problem with writing loads and am not saying at all it wasn't useful, on the contrary in fact it helped me immensely. However, despite me not being bothered by writing huge amounts of information I was wondering of there is like an ultimate way of writing notes that are fantastic to revise from ( with out going in to too much detail on how the brain learns, had enough of that in biology)

History is all about technique. I just finished gcses and did modular history and in my past exam I have to get a* to get one overall and need like D for an A . But I mucked up my nazi Germany exam I didn't do enough technique revision and that's why I ll prob miss out on a*. So advice is obviously learn content but then focus a hell of a lot on technique. Being concise is a must do ... Quality over quantity . Just think about it if student 1 writes a 16 mark in 2 pages and student 2 does in 5 but they both cover same rough points in rough detail, examiner will prefer student 1 all day everyday.
So you might want to try taking less notes as its not necessary, hope this helps

Hi Adam, have you looked at the 2-6 method at all. This is simply dividing thr page into a colum width space on thr left and a 6 column pace on the right. Headings key points and other key points go in the 2 columns on the left and detail can fit in the right 6 columns . This gives you clear structured usable notes for when you need to review them.(Original post by AdamFenton)
