basically i always get these "random"calls from random numbers, so today i got one and cos my phone was vibrating really loudly i picked up the call and just hung up but then i realized that i had applied for a million jobs and it could have been a job offer or whatever
so i put the number into google and it was the number for whsmith corporate responsibility (i applied to whmsith)

do you think i've blown it? or they will call again?

As long as you didn't say anything, they'll think it was a mistake. I think they will phone back, if their heads aren't too far up their own arses, that is

If they do phone back and ask what happened, just say something like "Oh I'm sorry, I just got a new phone and I've still not gotten used to it." or something like that!

Just ring them back and apologise for the misunderstanding. And if you didn't say anyone then even better because it can be seen as an accident.

Just keep ringing til someone picks up. Alternatively, find a customer services number or something, they can usually put you through/direct you to another number.

I did this when they rang me back , and they just rang my housephone :-) Try and give Head office a ring or your local store might be able to help
