Typical socialist ********. If you even consider that wealth is bad or evil in any way, shape or form, you are an idiot.

What people do with wealth can be wrong, but otherwise, wealth is a joyous thing to have. It should not be stolen or frowned upon.

For this reason, wealthy people should and do use every advantage they have to get the best GCSE results. Yes, parents can help that have had good educations but decent, honest authors craft 'REVISION GUIDES' for you to purchase at an extremely nominal fee anyway. These are then subsidized by the (usually) state-driven schools or given a discount to to make them even cheaper, to the point where a revision guide for three years worth of work can cost the same as 4 loaves of bread.

Don't take this as a personal jibe, but the reason Britain is in the state it is is because people treat wealth as a problematic factor. I'm sure you're a great person without the intention of offence or annoyance, but to even convey the idea that because they are wealthy they are bad/unfair, you are demonstrating that these ideals are ingrained within you.

yeah they have an advantage, but you can create your own leverage by working 110% harder if you put it in the work, you'll get there Believe is the key.

there is so much opportunities now for the poor to work their way up, which wasn't so much the case back in the 80/90s. We have so much to thank for and especially the advent of internet which has opened a wealth of information for many including the poor, so I am very thankful for the internet

I am poor, but I don't let it be a barrier to my goals in life

I strongly agree with you. Pupils who have wealthier backgrounds than their counterparts are more likely to succeed in GCSEs. This is because of the better opportunities that are present such as tutoring and mentoring available to the pupil and also because the parents are MORE LIKELY to be more educated at University level and are therefore more likely to earn a higher salary. This will all make out so that they KNOW what to do for their child to succeed, academically.

    **** yes they do.

they get to go to private schools where half of the ****ing lesson aren't ruined with kids who don't give two ****s about education and they have teachers who are actually competent

they get to have tutors in every subject without having to think twice

they get to receive the best work experience because their dad or a 'family friend' is a doctor or an investment banker

but... life isn't fair, their parents worked hard whereas my parents did **** all. what im tryna get at is saying that 'someone is rich therefore it is unfair on us because he gets more opportunities' is like saying 'shes prettier than me! thats so unfair i want to be pretty too'. in life we all begin at different starting points but who wins isn't determined.

I agree with Banishingboredom CGP & second hand revision books are pretty cheap on Amazon & can be more helpful than asking a parent sometimes.Good Luck!

Yeah they do have an advantage, but it's certainly not unfair. I've been very lucky, I've been at private school since age 9 (now 16), I meet parents colleagues and get experiences other may not. Is it unfair? No. Both my parents came from working class backgrounds and worked extremely hard to get where they are today, and while I am privileged I don't get grade's handed to me on a silver platter. I have worked hard at school and that's why I have an average above 85%, not because of my family's financial position. To earn money I have to apply to McDonalds and Tesco's etc, I don't automatically get a position in a law firm or a corporate company. Sure, there are advantages, but ultimately everyone determines where they go in life.
