    has anyone imported the kindle fire to the UK, and if so does it work fine? thanks

    I believe so. Lots of people bring them over from the states and sell them on eBay.

    Get the Nexus 7 if you haven't already ordered, the price difference will be minimal, it's substantially higher quality and can be ordered in the UK (:
