I think it's safe to say that most women are very aware of how much attention they will receive when dressed in a particular way and certainly in dressing more provocatively they are far more likely to attract the attention of 'perverts'. It would be naive to think that a girl showing up in little more than her underwear isn't going to attract unwanted attention but the real crime isn't in this display of self confidence or even 'freedom of fashion', it's in the perverts that even make this discussion possible.
    Yes, I totally agree.

A similar question would be asking; If you left a few gold bars that were easy to steal in a poor neighbourhood, would you be to blame if they got stolen?

As a pervert I am inclined to disagree completely.

Yes! In a job application the other day I was asked, 'If the conditions are right, most people would steal... agree, disagree etc...' Worrying.

Rape and sexual harassment are two different things entirely. In Italy for example, women will often be harassed for wearing revealing clothes, simply because it attracts a lot of attention in a culture where most women dress modestly (at least, in the sense of covering themselves). If this is the same in China, then what right do women have to change their own culture? It's like transvestites: dressing up as the opposite sex is just not done unless you want to provoke a reaction, that's just the way it is. Same for revealing clothing.

I think part of this is true . If you go to a cheap night club you notice that all the leches are bottom grabing the girls with hot pants, short skirts and revealing outfits. And even on the streets at night when it's 'pub kick out time' you get lerry leches coming on to girls in revealing outfits , but i dont think the girls should stop enjoying dressing up for a night out or 'whatever'. I just think they should stay safe and get a registered taxi home or walk a safe route, it's all about being streetwise and savy really.

This is total bull**** - just cause someone is dressed provocatively doesn't give someone else an excuse to hit on them or whatever - ever heard of the slut walk? http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-13739876

Women dress up provocatively to attract males.

Women complain when they attract the wrong males.

The slut walk was basically a group of femenists thinking that men should be subjugated for the needs of women. It was very contraversial, and in my opinion, wrong.

Because the cultural reaction is retarded.

Men dress up to attract Females.

Men complain when they attract the wrong females. Only they are not molested by them in public.

Yes but men don't go on a meaningless "player walk" that just annoys everybody.

I don't go out showing my 6pack infront of fat crazy girls, I dress smartly and go to the right places where I'm not at risk. This is what females should also do.

But men are not molested and then have people tell them that they should change what they wear. Hence, why they don't have a "player walk".

You can show your six pack out and fat girls don't go crazy. They won't start to molest you without your permission either.

    :facepalm2:

This view is demeaning to both men and women. Men aren't savages you know, they possess this thing called self control. There's just a few idiots out there that ruin it for everyone else, as is always the case.

People shouldn't have to start dressing the way other people tell me to just because some *******s don't know the meaning of respect.

Bull****. Some women do dress in order to receive male attention but others just like to look good and then all the idiots who won't leave them alone say "oh you're dressing provocatively". What does that even mean, anyway? "Provocative" is such a subjective word. What a woman may think is fine someone like you may class as "provocative". And provocation doesn't mean you have to rise to it. I see good-looking people all the time wearing stuff that I could class "provocative" but i don't harass them because I am a decent ****ing human being

And slutwalk is nothing to do with that. It's against the idea that rape victims are harassed over their choice of clothing, and told that they "must have lead them on" etc etc.

"Look but don't touch" really isn't that much of a hard concept to grasp.

And obviously the person who steals the gold bars is to blame. That is the whole point.

and its rare that a women will be sexually harassed. Your point being?

I can't expect to walk into a gaybar with my top off and not get harassed, can I? That'd be incredibly stupid of me, seeing as I'm straight and don't want to be harassed by people i'm not interested in.

I think you're seeing this as from the common femenist female view, but can you start to see it now from the normal perspective?

Men in general, will not sexually harass, but for a womens own safety, cover up! We can't be responsible for other men!

Or men could just learn not to sexually assault instead of controlling half the population's clothing?

Odd concept I know... Learning not to do bad things. Who would have thought...
Or you could stop living in a fantasy land where there are no such things as criminals and all precautions should be thrown out the window. Grow up.
