Head girl application help
Hi guys, I really need help with my application for head girl beacuse I can't really think of any strong reasons why I should be chosen for the postition instead of the other candidates. I'm a prefect and on the school's charity commitee and I feel that I have contributed a lot to school life but I keep letting myself down that perhaps that I'm not good enough or that popular as there is a student vote that is considered as well.
I would really appreciate it if anyone could give me some helpful tips/ideas for my application, especially if you have been head girl or boy or perhaps in the sam e postition as myself.
Thanks a lot -
Re: Head girl application help
I take it you want to be a medic, so presumably you're getting experience outside of school and probably have extra curriculars. These make you a well rounded person etc. You make time for this and your school work so just big yourself up on that front!

Re: Head girl application help
These things tend to be based on popularity or perceived popularity amongst students by teachers.
I would recommend what rocket has suggested. Say what your contribution will be, what you will do for the school, what you will do for the students. Come up with some new ideas. Be specific. What does the role involve? Where have you demonstrated that you can do the things the role involves before - but more importantly, as stated, what will your contribution be in the role. -
Re: Head girl application helpThis. Also, do you get an interview or are you chosen on your application? Because you need to show them how much you want it. So if you do get an interview be enthusiastic/passionate about it (which if you truly want it shouldn't be a problem), and try to come up with original ideas. You don't have to implement them all if you're successful, but having too much is better than having not enough! The important thing is not to just list what you're doing already - think about what it shows about you, the skills it has given you and how these are transferrable. Good luck!(Original post by Dandyflower)

Top Tip #1:
When you write a newsletter, email, or any sort of publication in your official capacity as Head Girl, do not write the text content of your messages in a bright colour where it's absolutely unnecessary because it will just wind people up. This also applies to any other colours that take your fancy.

Re: Head girl application help
show them how you will be able to lead by giving examples of how you have done so before. Tell them about skills which you think nobody else in your school has (but dont forget the generic and usual stuff). But you must be able to show them how you will be respected and how you would be able to guide the pupils in school. Think about all the other stuff that a head girl has to do and really just talk about all these skills. Good luck!

Re: Head girl application helpthink of examples where you've shown each of these qualities:(Original post by BeAMedic)
I have the interview tomorrow and I wanted to know what type of questions they could ask me. There is like thirteen other applicants for the postion and also thanks for all the advice everyone has provided so far, I really appreciate it.
1) leadership
2) teamwork
3) problem solving
4) ability to work under pressure
5) ability to deliver results
then focus on what makes you stronger than your competition.e.g. sports, volunteerting, academics, good role model etc
