Where do I go from here?
Hey everyone,
I just completed my Law degree and achieved first class honours, however I feel so lost. I do not know where to go from here. I applied for training contracts last year, but they were rushed and I did not get any interviews. I have minimal experience - two high street firms and volunteering at a legal centre.
I am seriously contemplating what to do next. I never had much confidence in myself, but now I feel that maybe I do actually stand a chance.
Any fellow graduates feeling the same way? -

"If at first you don't succeed, try and try again"
You have a 1st Class Honours Degree in Law. You will get an opportunity, wether it be actual paid work or just some work experience, sooner or later. Just keep reapplying and trying to find something, it will pop up so don't worry.
Good luck

Re: Where do I go from here?
Get applying. You have about a month to put in some really thoughtful, well-researched applications. Don't leave it until the last minute, and show a couple to a careers advisor before you send them off to get feedback. The main thing that will hold you back at this stage is your own fear or lack of drive.
Research different areas of the law so you know yourself and what you are interested in. That way you will be able to target relevant firms and research them properly. -
Re: Where do I go from here?
First of all congratulations on gaining a 1st Class Honours Degree in Law.
This clearly shows you are an intelligent and able person. I would recommend doing work placements at the moment, while you work on applications, this is because you will be able to build a portfolio of the different firms you have been at. Also its getting more and more competitive out there, even with a 1st Class Degree. The more you do the more yo will learn and be able to apply to a real job, I strongly recommend this as well as writing applications for paying jobs.
Good Luck & Let us know how it goes.
