Re: Economics books for somebody [Post A-Level study]Anything in particular that you're interested in?(Original post by . . .)
Could somebody recommend some good reads for somebody that has just finished A-Level economics but not doing it at university so nothing too complicated.
The ones most people seem to go to first are Freakonomics (Levitt/Dubner), either The Undercover Economist or The Logic of Life by Tim Harford, or The Armchair Economist (Landsburg?)
If you're interested in development economics, Poor Economics (Duflo/Bannerjee) and The Bottom Billion (Collier) are both quite good introductions, while if you're more into the lefty critique sort of side, Ha-Joon Chang's 23 Things You Didn't Know About Capitalism is good.
Best thing I can recommend is to go into the economics/politics section of Waterstones and see what catches your eye. -

"End this Depression Now" by Paul Krugman or his 1990s book "The Accidental Theorist". Great simple guide to macro stuff.
Or "Keynes, Return of the Master" by Robert Skidelsky is good for economic history
