Jack wills gilets are the best.
It's just like having a lazy day wearing a hoodie or an alternative to a coat, keeps me warm!

I have one which I wore loads when I was working as a teaching Assistant and doing lots of P.E. lessons.
They worked well because they leave your arms free and able to move around easily but keep your torso a lot warmer.
They work really well for riding for the same reason, and generally any outdoor sport when it's cold but not freezing. -

Don't think i've seen anyone who wore a gilet like that. I've Seen people wear a hooded gilet with a long sleeve jumper though. I think i would need to re-evaluate my life if i was bothered by this.
But you could always stop people wearing a gilet in the street and ask them why they are wearing it? maybe have a questionnaire in hand in your daily travels in the outside world to assist you in such a situation. -
Yes I work part time, well only Saturdays!(Original post by StuTheCockatoo)

Re: Please can somebody explain the Gilet-look to me...it's just, not good?Well this is true of almost every form of clothes. People wear them to give the impression that they've been doing the thing that the clothes were originally invented for. Sometimes this is a conscious decision, sometimes its unconscious.(Original post by Arekkusu)
I think it comes from the upper classes and is supposed to keep them warm while out huntin' shootin' and fishin'. Therefore people wear gilets to look like posh heirs to a country manor.
