HELP Insurance offer accomodation issues for KENT
Heard there are a number of issues with accomodation with the university of Kent for insurance offers. Only thing is that I live in the South West and have only visited Canterbury once! If I had to find accomodation on my own I'd have no idea where to start. Is there any assistance you receive in finding accomodation or any way you can get together a group of people in the same situation?

Yes they do assist you, however if you were to go down the route of needing to find your own off campus accommodation you'd be a fool not to visit it personally yourself. I was in the same position as you, I live in Devon. You'd simply have to make time.
Insurance students can apply for accommodation though can't they? -
Re: HELP Insurance offer accomodation issues for KENT
Might be late saying this but I thought it would be worth sharing my experience (2011/12 fresher year). I got into Kent on an insurance offer last year and I did not apply for accommodation until after results day (end of August) - This was not a good decision. I failed to get into any of my four choices and ended up paying more than expected to be on campus, in accommodation I did not want to be in. My advice would be to apply for accommodation even on an insurance offer as soon as possible.

Re: HELP Insurance offer accomodation issues for KENT
Hi there,
There is usually an issue with new students who come through insurance/clearing not being able to get accommodation on campus.
This is unlikely to happen this year due to there being less places taken due to the 2012 fees regime.
If that does happen though and you are needed to find accommodation off-campus, we will of course do everything we can to assist you. The University runs a special open day for clearing students (and insurance students are welcome if they so wish I believe) where local landlords & agents attend. We also have guidance published to assist (which you can see here http://www.kent.ac.uk/accommodation/...guide-2012.pdf) and work with an accreditation scheme to promote good properties.
