how does the Edexcel GCSE French grade boundaries work?
I am doing edexcel french gcse which comprises of 4 units - speaking, reading, Control assessment and listening.

For listening i got full ums - 60 ums.
For speaking i got 78/90 ums

For the control assessment i got 54/60 AS A RANDOM SCORE WHICH THE TEACHER GAVE ME - is this the final ums mark - because she says its high above the A* threshold.

If it is...how much do I have to get UMS wise in the reading exam i have just done?

    Is an A* - 270/300?

    PLEASE LET ME KNOW

The French writing controlled assessment that you got 54/60 on would convert to about 88/90 UMS (high A*). Add them up and you get... 88+60+78=226. You need 270/300 for A*, as you said: 270-226=44

So you need 44/60 in the reading, which is a low B. The actual reading exam is out of 40 marks, and 44 ums would convert to about 24/40 marks - shouldn't be too difficult
