Interview help: Product that Appeals to You Personally
I have an interview at Boots for a customer assistant job on Monday and I've read some of the previous threads which have helped but the one thing that I'm most scared about is when you have to pick a product that you like personally. I have no idea what product I should choose nor what I need to know about it or what they are going to ask me about it. Has anyone done the interview/assessment recently and can give me some advice, I will be eternally grateful!! Thank you!! ~

I did the assessment/interview last Xmas and got the job! I picked the foundation I regularly use and just said that it gave really good coverage, it was affordable etc etc, just pick a product you like and sell it on the good points you think it has. Make it up if you have to. Luckily, I didn't have to sell it to a customer, I was doing the selling thing to an assistant because it was quiet.

Good luck for it anyway! For me, I thought the interview/assessment would be really daunting but it wasn't that bad. Standard interview questions and then the shop-floor tasks which I preferred to the interview overall!

I have one more question and that is about what types of questions they ask you in the interview? Are they just normal, standard interview questions or do they have a strong link to do with the experiences in boots? ~

From what I remember, they were the standard questions. I remember one was 'The last time you helped someone without being asked' so I said I helped a drunk girl get home with my friends cos she was crying haha! Was kind of glad it happened then! And the standard customer service ones. Nothing surprising! You'll be fine
Take your passport too cos I remember them scanning mine! Might not happen in every interview but it's worth taking

    Good luck!

hey, I remember my Boots interview as being very short and very standard, just play the game and have a few examples of 'teamwork' etc. prepared for before you go in and you'll be fine.

I'm male which narrowed the selection of 'products I am interested in' quite a bit, so I seem to remember giving a quite passionate argument about why I liked some Wallace and Gromit cufflinks! So it doesn't really matter what product you pick as long as you come across interested in it. Good luck!

    I just had my interview
It went alright, thank you guys so much for your advice! The lady was extremely nice and helped me to feel calm and relaxed. The one question that I really couldn't answer was something along the lines of 'Describe a situation where if you were to be in it again you would do something different' which I literally had no answer for but all in all it was okay though I don't think I will have got the job
    Thanks again!!!! ~
