Scottish Medical Schools - Advanced Higher Conditionals?
Do any of the five medical schools in Scotland tend to give conditional offers based on Advanced Highers? Will any offer unconditionals if the applicant has achieved AAAAA in their Highers?

    This year, I'm taking:

    H Chemistry
    H English
    H History
    H Mathematics
    H Physics

I never took Biology at Standard Grade so I shall be taking it in S6. If I were to receive offers, would they all be conditional? It's likely I'll be taking:

    AH Chemistry
    AH Mathematics
    AH Physics
    H Biology

Would a conditional offer be likely to involve my Advanced Highers? Or merely an A/B pass in Biology?

From what I've seen typical offers from Glasgow are usually conditional, BCC.

Since you are not doing Biology this year, if you get an offer from Edinburgh it will be conditional, B in Biology.

I'm not too sure about other universities though

I've heard of people getting unconditionals from Aberdeen and Dundee if they get 5A's and do well in all other parts of the admissions process but i'm guessing its not too common. Don't know what conditionals you would get but I would assume they would involve Biology coz its reasonably important to medicine.

I would check the medical schools admissions pages to be sure but at the time I applied Glasgow was the only Scottish medical school to routinely give conditionals. Any conditions set elsewhere are likely to be restricted to Higher Biology assuming you achieve 4As and a B or above in S5 (3As and 2Bs for Dundee) since you did not study it at SG.

Edit: Chemistry is actually considered the more useful science by medical schools but some level of biology study is required for the A100 courses
