What does everybody think of the Mill Point flats in Manchester? Any good? Only 5 mins walk away from the business school, so i take it everyone hoping to do business at mmu will be hoping to get their places reserved. Are there rooms to accomidate just 1 student so just a 1 bedroom flat or does it have to be shared with other students (en suite)???

take it you dont live in mill point then? i do and no there are only 6 or 4 bedroom flats its nice living there but somwtimes they have workmen going tound sealing windows etc n its annoyi wen they wake you up at half 9 but its in a good location. except i heard a girl was stabbed in theey round there somewhere so scared of goin out lol
Mill Point Halls are absolutely sweet! My 2 of my housemates lived their last year and said it was great, but the location is quite bad; after about 6oclock there are lines of prostitues outside.

The rooms are of a really good size, and its nice that theres a little lounge area connected to the kitchen.

The flats are shared between 4 or 6 people like bethan_ceri said, why would you want to move into halls and live in a 1 bedroom flat? Kind of defeats the point...
i dont know 2 tell u the truth. i guess its cos il be new their and wont really know any1 in the flat so might be abit uncomfortable at the start. i guess itl get better but i was hoping to have my own 1 bedroom flat and then maybe in the 2nd year il try sharing

Ok, basically Briarfields and Oxford Court are pretty much identical and just round the corner from eachother. I'm in Briarfields and it's quiet a lot of the time. For some reason my block isnt very chummy with the other flats in it, but I know that's not true for all the blocks. As for accommodation, it's pretty bog standard. There are 4 people in my flat and the lounge has a television with a rubbish digibox. I hardly know anyone that lives in these halls! Its stupid. Anyway, if I had my time again, I would live in Cambridge Halls because its so much more social. Only thing is slightly smaller rooms and 2 toilets and 2 showers between 10 people. I could live with that though.

I live in Mill Point, and I'm gonna live there next year. I reckon its pretty good 2bh. Dont feel as if they try and rob you of all your money. Basically, if your gonna reck the joint, your gonna get charged. Even so, our walls are dirty as **** but they wont charge, they give you a free pot of paint at the end of the year to clean it up haha. My mate broke my lock on my door and i thought i was gonna get charged a lot but instead i told them, then they came up within an hour and fixed it there and then in like 30 seconds lol.

are you a prospective RNCM student? if you are, you can book practice rooms in RNCM and can practice there virtually anytime when the college is open (subject to rooms availability). There are a few pianos for rent at the halls, but the piano quality is not brilliant. You can also bring in your own piano/keyboard/clavinova or similar items if you wish and you can practice in your room between 9am - 9pm.

Hey I'm applying to St Charles Grove Hall too. I hear its pretty good and gets a decent amount of undergraduates applying for it. Which uni will you be studying at in Manchester?

Yeah its a decent hall. Did you guys apply for studios or single en-suite rooms?

I am going MMU in 2012 to do business management I seen and heard things about cambridge halls their defo the best for socialising. Yeah you have to share a toilet. But their is 2 toliets between up to 10 people depends how big your dorm is. but most of the dorms have 1 toilet for boys and 1 for girls. It defo be the boys 1 which is messy and your a girl so it should be fine. victoria is also nice halls as i looked in them aswell but if you get crap room mates it be a nitemare but oh well you can change. All the halls seem pretty good to be honest just dont live at student village halls heard its like a prison.
As I've said to many people on these threads, take a look at Mill Point...

Its a private halls owned by Liberty Living, and a lil more expensive, but its fantastic.

All rooms are ensuite, with friendly staff and the other residents are awesome...Very sociable people and up for a laugh.
