    PS3 Vs Xbox 360
Currently have around £200~ saved up and now I am looking for a new console. Previously have had a ps3 slim and also an xbox 360 (white noisy one) and just wondering if any/both has drastically changed in regards to game play/enjoyment/hardware and price.

Saw this on game (http://www.game.co.uk/en/playstation...bership-172351) was wondering if any of the hardware was updated or something seeing as its "to pre order" or is it just the same as the old 320gb black consoles with a different colour.

Any good deals out for a new ps3/xbox 360. Sub topic, due to rumours about ps4, should I wait for the ps4 if it is even coming out soon?

Not going to buy a gaming pc due to my long 10+ year addiction to on line MMORPG's which never cease to finish/end game play, that's why I am looking to get short burst RPG games which can be finished and turned off. Going sleep at 5am killing mobs is ruining my life

    Thank you

This could be argued and debated over and over without a conclusion being reached, in my opinion it all comes down to personal preference and what you want from your console. I've had both PS3 and 360 and have preferred the 360 just for the better online gaming. However, seen as you are looking for just fun play i'd go for the PS3 and MGS4

At this stage in both consoles' life-cycles I'd say the technical abilities of both aren't that relevant, it's basically down to which games you enjoy. That said, I reckon the 360 has pretty much hit its technical peak, whereas I suspect PS3 exclusives will squeeze a little more juice out of the system yet.

Basically what I've observed, is that "multi-platform" games tend to run a little better on the 360 than the PS3, though the difference is usually fairly minor... whereas, PS3 exclusives are generally more impressive than 360 exclusives.

Personally, I'd say the PS3 has the edge for exclusives - InFamous series, Uncharted series, MGS4, The Last Of Us, FF Versus XIII (if it ever materialises...)

The only thing that would push me in the other direction at all, is ****ing Cinavia.

I've had both and the PS3 wins for me. Not by much, I would have either tbh.

Just some of the exclusives are awesome (Uncharted!) and not having to worry about paying for online is such a bonus. With the 360 if I left it for a while I would always come back with trepidation as to whether I would be able to play online. With the PS3 I know I can just jump into some online COD for a laid back gaming sesh on a rainy afternoon whenever I want.

Go for whichever you feel you liked more when you had both, but for me the PS3 edges it.

    PS3 is far superior.

Thank you, in the end it might just be a ps3 due to the controller. I have a hard time killing people (COD MW2) with the xbox controller.

Thanks anyway for your input guys.

Anything new about the new ps3 consoles then in terms of hardware? I wonder why it has to be "pre ordered" and it just couldn't come out if the only thing that was changing was the colour.

I played both and I prefer the xbox selection of games. Halo is just too awesome not to play.

Regarding the PS4, I have no idea, but microsoft stated that the xbox 360 will continue at least into 2015.

In terms of technology, the PS3 does have blu-ray, so two birds with one stone. Otherwise I'd say they were about the same performance wise (though the ring of death problem with the xbox 360 was a bit off-putting)

Ps3, Best answer yet I think. Just procrastinating spending £200+ after spending £250 on driving this week. So broke !

Well I have had both and in my opinion as other people have said it all comes down to personal preferences, The 360 is definitely better for playing with friends online but on the other hand I feel that the PS3 is a better console in general with better games and better graphics on exclusive games like MGS4, the Uncharted series and the upcoming The Last of Us. I prefer the PS3 mainly because I generally play games by myself (loner), the exclusives are generally better and I can also play classic psone titles. Also dont forget that with Xbox live there comes a price tag every year...its not much but still something to consider when making your purchase.

As for the PS4, trust me the PS4 will not be for a while yet...the new Xbox is very likely to appear within the next two to three years i would guess while the PS4 is probably another 5 to 6 years.
