Mature PGCE student needs advice on how things work in 2012!
    Hi there

I will be returning to university to do a PGCE in English with Drama in September. It has been 15 years since I attended uni and things have no doubt changed!

What sort of supplies will I need for lectures (I will be living at home) - do people take notes on laptops? iPads? Good old loose-leaf? I am tech-savvy but this study in the 21st century all new to me!

Can any PGCEers out there help out with what I will need for placements?

    Thanks

    Kate

Some take laptops, some take paper, some take nothing and get the whole thing off Blackboard after the lecture really, for lecture notes just take whatever you're most efficient with. I'm sticking with pen and paper despite getting a new laptop for my PGCE work because I can still write faster than I can type really

Most people stick with a pen and paper - laptops can be quite loud and disturb others, and they're impossible to make diagrams on quickly. You can't type fast enough on an iPad either.
