Name a date, event and person
The aim of this thread is to almost build a glossary of events in History.
You need to put down an event in history, the date it took place and the name of the person behind it.
For example:
World War ll, 1939, Adolf Hitler

Re: Name a date, event and person
In History? What the whole of History? From the Big Bang forwards or what? You do realise that a list of all the events in History would run into billions?
What counts as an event anyway? I was born 19 years ago does that count as an event? Or are you only talking about battles and things like that. Because History is a hell of a lot more than few dates
Also you're assuming that every event in history has a single person behind it. That's the largely discredited "Great Man" theory of History and anyway what if the event I gave you was the Black Death? Or Hurricane Katrina?

Re: Name a date, event and person
1492 Death of Lorenzo de' Medici. Accession to pre-eminence of Florence of Piero 'the Unfortunate' de' Medici. Beginning of the collapse of the balance of power which had been achieved after the 1481 war. Oh, and some guy Columbus got in a boat.
Thing about history is that 'importance' is all relative. This all seems a bit ambitious and, regrettably, unimaginative. Wikipedia is a better encyclopaedia.
